84 year old Alvin "Duffy" Paulson died on Saturday, September 4, at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. A Celebration of Life Services will be 10:30am Wednesday, September 8, at Zion Lutheran Church in Odin. Burial will be in Long Lake Lutheran Cemetery in rural St. James with full military honors by Donald V. Larson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9607 of Butterfield and the Foster-Bernhardt American Legion Post #373 of Trimont. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Tuesday at the Kramer Family Funeral Home of Trimont and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. 97 year old Melvin Pederson of Madelia died Friday, September 3, at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Madelia with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 4-7pm at the Pilgrim Funeral Home in Madelia. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Monday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the church on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Tuesday, September 7, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, with burial in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4-8pm Monday, September 6, and 7:30-10am Tuesday, September 7, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm. The St. Joseph's Catholic Aid Council will pray the rosary at 6pm and there will be a parish prayer service at 7pm both Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to New Ulm Area Catholic Schools or to the Oak Hills Living Center.
